Cody Barnes finds his rhythm in the final tests for a top-five finish

Round One

January 31st, 2026

Liqui Moly Beta team rider, Cody Barnes, lined up at a race for the first time on a Beta in five years at the 2026 U.S. Sprint Enduro opener and secured fourth overall. Transitioning from an aluminum-framed to a steel-framed, Barnes spent the early stages of the weekend fine-tuning his setup alongside his mechanic. The adjustments paid off on Sunday, when he found his rhythm, winning three of the final four tests and recording the fastest Enduro time of the entire event. Despite narrowly missing the podium with a time of 1:19:54.447, Barnes left the weekend confident that he has the speed to be the fastest rider on the track as the season progresses.

“This weekend was the first sprint enduro of the year. We had our struggles, which were expected with the big switch for this season but I’m happy with how myself and my mechanic Denny handled everything and worked towards bettering my set up. After turning some clickers and adjusting a few things I was able to get back to where myself and the team should be by knocking off the last 3 tests wins. We ended up going 4-3 for 4th overall for the weekend but we were able to learn a lot and make notes on it so we know what to expect. Big thank you to Denny for all his hard work this weekend in the cold. He busted his butt and it is very much appreciated!”
