The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team was back on track today at Motorland Aragon, Spain, for the first day of free practice at Round 10 of the FIM Superbike World Championship. Remy Gardner and Dominique Aegerter ended the day 13th and 14th overall.
The morning’s Free Practice 1 proved challenging for both riders, but they still collected valuable data for the weekend ahead. Aegerter set a best lap of 1’50.333 to finish 14th, while his Australian teammate followed in 18th with a 1’51.072. Both completed the session on a single set of tyres.
In the afternoon session, the pair focused on race distance and consistency, making notable progress. Gardner improved his time by 1.589 seconds to finish 13th with a 1’49.483, while Aegerter was close behind in 14th on a 1’49.574. The team chose not to use a qualifying tyre.

“It was a demanding day, but there’s room to improve. FP1 was tricky, but we made steady progress in the afternoon, concentrating on race pace and race tyres. We’re still not as close to the front as we’d like, but I’m confident we can take another step forward tomorrow.”
Dominique Aegerter – P14 (1’49.574)
“It was a busy Friday, but we can stay positive for the weekend. We struggled a bit in the morning but improved in the afternoon. We’re still some way off where we want to be, yet I’m confident we can work hard overnight, qualify well tomorrow, and head into Race 1 in a strong position.”
