In Lombok, with track temperatures exceeding 60 °C, the Brazilian and the Spaniard rewrote the circuit’s lap records by taking advantage of the E0125 development rear in Moto2™ and the standard SC1 rear in Moto3™. | ||
· Diogo Moreira (Kalex) was the fastest in Moto2™ qualifying, taking pole position with a time of 1’32.341, which also represents the new all-time lap record for the category and improves by a good 7 tenths the previous one set in 2024 by Aron Canet. Completing the front row of tomorrow’s race are David Alonso (Kalex), second, and Izan Guevara (Boscoscuro), third. In qualifying, all the riders used SC1 soft compound tyres at the front and E0125 specification development soft tyres at the rear. · In Moto3™ qualifying, Adrian Fernandez (Honda) took pole position in 1’37.022 with soft SC1 compound tyres on both front and rear. The Spaniard’s time represents the new all-time lap record of the circuit and improves by about three tenths the previous that Ivan Ortolà set last year. David Muñoz (KTM) set the second fastest time by opting for the medium SC2 compound on both axles, while third-placed Joel Kelso, also on KTM, used the same tyre combination as the poleman. · During Moto3™ Q1, the track reached what has been the highest temperature of the weekend so far, at 63°C, one of the highest recorded in the entire season. It then dropped slightly to 62°C for Q2 and 60°C for the Moto2™ sessions. In both classes the gaps were extremely small: in Moto2™ as many as 16 riders are within less than a second, 15 in Moto3™.
