| The Metzeler brand portfolio is enriched with three new tyres: the supersport SPORTEC 01 and SPORTEC 01 RS and the KAROO 4 Street enduro on/off product. These new tyres will be the stars of Metzeler’s exhibition space at Booth i54 in Pavilion 5 of EICMA, scheduled in Milan from 4 to 9 November 2025.
The Metzeler SPORTEC product line has been, for over a decade, a benchmark in the segment of supersport tyres for motorcycles, appreciated for the riding pleasure, versatility and high performance on wet surfaces that this tyre range is able to offer. This line has included successful models such as the SPORTEC M7 RR first and SPORTEC M9 RR later, both of which were also developed thanks to the extensive experience gained in road racing, including the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy of which Metzeler has been the official tyre since 2023. The tyres of the SPORTEC family are recognised for their grip, handling and wet behaviour and for these qualities they have received prestigious international awards, winning numerous comparisons promoted by the most authoritative motorcycle magazines. SPORTEC 01 and the sportier SPORTEC 01 RS are designed to continue this successful tradition and have been developed to raise the bar for supersport performance even further. Both are dedicated to sporty riders looking for high performance and reliability and both take advantage of the patented DYNATREAD™ technology -adopted for the first time with Metzeler ROADTEC 02, which results in an adaptive tread pattern that improves grip and stability at high speed, and which has been further improved to be exploited in the supersport field.
SPORTEC 01 is the direct successor of the SPORTEC M9 RR and is a tyre for sporty road use and for motorcyclists who require control in different conditions, both dry and wet. Compared to the SPORTEC 01 RS, it offers higher mileage and better performance in wet conditions.
SPORTEC 01 RS is the most extreme version of SPORTEC 01, a road-legal tyre designed to offer high levels of grip and also suitable for track days. Compared to SPORTEC 01, this tyre provides greater grip and is therefore suitable for those who prefer even sportier riding on the road and also want to be able to ride on the track for pleasure using the same tyres they used to reach the circuit and without having to worry about transporting the bike to the track or changing tyres.
KAROO 4 Street is an on/off knobbly tyre, designed for high-end adventure motorcycles and maxi enduros and for 70% road and 30% off-road use, which therefore offers excellent performance on the road while maintaining good off-road capabilities. It is the successor to the KAROO Street and is the latest addition to the Metzeler KAROO family which also includes the KAROO 4, developed for more off-road use. KAROO 4 Street meets the growing demand for adventure motorcycle tyres with excellent road performance on both dry and wet surfaces combined with off-road aesthetics and allowing the possibility of riding on dirt roads. KAROO 4 Street is dedicated to motorcyclists who own modern Adventure motorcycles and are looking for a knobbly tyre that can offer excellent grip on the road, good wet behaviour and mileage, stability and comfort. Compared to its predecessor KAROO Street, the new tyre features improved on-road handling, thanks to the new profiles, more uniform wear, obtained with the greater separation of the central knobs, improved acoustic comfort with the multi-pitch knob design and better off-road traction on soft terrain. The three new tyres will become part of the Metzeler 2026 range and will be available for sale to the public in the first months of next year, exact timing depending on region. |
