New Pirelli rear soft for Razgatlioğlu’s first at Aragón

The BMW rider took advantage of the SC2 front and the soft E0125 rear specification to claim his first victory at the Spanish circuit. Debise takes his maiden Supersport win.

· For the first time in his career, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu (BMW) claimed the victory at Motorland Aragón, by winning today’s Race1. The Turkish rider finished ahead of Nicolò Bulega (second) and Sam Lowes (third), both riding Ducati machines. All three riders used the SC2 front and the SC0 development E0125 rear tyres. The latter was the unanimous choice of the entire grid, while most riders opted for the medium SC1 front tyre. Only three other riders, in addition to the top three, chose the hard SC2. The average lap time in Race1 was more than four-tenths faster than the previous year.

· Nicolò Bulega (Ducati) set the fastest time in qualifying, securing pole position with a 1:47.332, improving his own all-time lap record from 2024 by half a second. The Ducati rider used the SC1 front and a development SCX rear in the E0126 specification, which replaces the SCQ that is usually allocated for qualifying and short races at this round.

· Valentin Debise (Ducati) prevailed over Can Oncu (Yamaha) to take the victory in WorldSSP Race1, his first career win in the category. Third at the finish line was Stefano Manzi (Yamaha). It was also a first for Mattia Casadei (MV Agusta), who yesterday secured his maiden career pole position thanks to the fastest time of 1:52.257, which also stands as the new all-time lap record at the circuit, improving by five hundredths the previous benchmark set by Nicolò Bulega in 2023. Almost all riders used the SC1 front and SC0 rear tyre combination both in Superpole and the race, with the only two exceptions being Simon Jespersen (Ducati), who started Race1 with the SC2 front, and Sergio Garcia (Yamaha), who used the SC1 rear.

The supersoft unbeatable in qualifying, the soft proves to be excellent over the distance

“The conditions of the first two days in Aragón were not easy. On Friday the grip was poor due to the sand on the track, but as the sessions went by the situation improved allowing the riders to lower their lap times and find a good feeling with the tyres. On Saturday morning, however, the cold asphalt (15 °C) made the track particularly aggressive towards the tyres, also causing tearing, especially on the right side, which however did not compromise grip, which was praised by all the riders. The supersoft E0126 was chosen by everyone for Superpole, confirming itself as a valid alternative to the SCQ and also contributing to Bulega’s new all-time lap record, which was more than half a second faster than the previous one. In Race1, the E0125 was the unanimous choice at the rear, guaranteeing good lap times and limited wear over the race distance. The protracted duel between Bulega and Razgatlioğlu until the chequered flag, and the fastest lap of the race that the Ducati rider set on the eighteenth and final lap, confirm the consistency of the tyre’s performance. As for the front, with 37 °C of asphalt both the medium SC1 and the hard SC2 remained valid options until the last moment. The top three chose the SC2, going against the majority and achieving excellent results. Good performance also for the SC1, as demonstrated by Petrucci, the first of the riders who used it, who finished fourth at the finish line. It will be interesting to observe tomorrow’s choices, especially if the temperatures rise further.”
