World Changing Event: 1964 – Honda launches its “You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda” advertising campaign to sell motorcycles to mainstream Americans. By the end of 1964, Honda had sold more than 100,000 units in the U.S., more than all other motorcycle manufacturers combined. Today it is still considered one of the most successful adverterising campaigns.
